I'm not sure who's more excited, Gaby or me. A couple years ago, we moved Gab out of the baby room into the spare bedroom. Her "big girl" bedroom is slightly larger and not so babyish.
Well, what was the baby room became the playroom. It was just natural to put her toys in there, and it would be easy to switch back to a baby room if we needed it. Plus we were able to keep the Dr. Seuss murals I painted, as it remained a kid room.
We still haven't needed a baby room again--that's a whole other post. So, this weekend we decided that it was time to move the toys to the basement.
The result: I finally get to have a painting/sewing/craft room upstairs. I couldn't be more excited and so is Gaby. She has more room to get her stuff out and actually play. Plus it will help keep her stuff from the main living areas upstairs.
My room is a mess right now. It's hard to believe how much stuff I have accumulated. I'm so happy that I will be able to actually see what I have.
The big question: do I paint over the murals. Yes, I will. We loved them for Gaby, but I'm looking forward to making this space my own. This is going to be a fun project for this winter.
